Last night I attended a viewing party at Chanel. The short film directed by Carl Lagerfeld, rooftop cocktails, people watching, and glittery things on display made the trip to Beverly Hills worthwhile. Lagerfeld's film, which demonstrates the meticulous crafting of a classic quilted Chanel bag, was almost noir-esque; shot entirely in high-contrast black-and-white. The film was followed by a rooftop reception; where every bag was on display, and there was more security than invited guests. Rodeo Drive certainly feels like another universe; one I'm glad not to live in, but is fun to visit.
