Netflix, which has (not quite single handedly) put brick-and-mordar movie rental stores out of business, is now releasing original programming! The online film-rental and live-stream website recently announced their new original series
House of Cards, starring Kevin Spacey. The two-time Academy Award winner will also executive produce, with David Fincher at the helm as director. Spacey and Fincher pitched the show to other networks, including HBO and ABC, but Netflix out-bid both powerhouses. What will this mean for the future of network television?
